I did some sewing today, but nothing historical yet. Today I made a couple of baby blankets for a friend, pictures below. However, on the historical front, I did some visual research and started planning a Viking/medieval hood for my friend Megan. I will be making her a complete Viking outfit, which I did some visual research for today as well. The hood is going to be a fairly generic medieval style hood, I made a concept sketch today and figured out some of the dimensions, I'll be drafting the pattern this week. (I need to get a new roll of craft paper for patterns!) The hood will be made from a medium weight wool in a warm, chocolate brown color, and it will be fully lined with a cranberry colored satin. The will complement Megan's hair and skin color nicely, and I think they'll coordinate well with the olive green that I plan to use for her dress. (Got to get her measurements before I get started on the dress, since the hood is less fitted I can use myself for sizing.) I'll go ahead and add a picture of the concept sketch on here as well (I'm not an artist, don't judge too harshly!).
